Coding is one of the most important skills for success in the future. Many jobs will require at least a minimal understanding of how code works. Coding is an ever-present part of our lives now, with the prevalence of computers and cellphones and understanding how our devices work is an important skill.

Today we looked at coding in classes. There are many resources on Hour of Code  and awesome tools like Grasshopper that can teach students how to code in a very stepwise manner.

The possibilities are endless with coding. Any subject can incorporate coding into their lessons as it can be key to helping to solve problems and represent problems. Here is a great video that uses code to simulate natural selection.

Tools like this would have been very helpful in my experience with coding as a first year university student. I struggled with the skills and language of coding and simple practice tools would have been a great asses.
